Biography—Christine Hibbard, Ph.D.

Dr. Christine Hibbard has been an educator, clinical psychotherapist and psychophysiologist in Boulder County, Colorado for over thirty years. In 1980, she co-founded the Family Medical Center. She is the Director of the Boulder-Louisville Biofeedback and Stress Management Clinic, founded in 1982. Dr. Hibbard has spent the last decade teaching and working with post-war emotional trauma in Kosovo, Israel, Syria and Uganda,, ad is the recipient of the United Nations Association Human Rights Award for this work. She was also awarded the US Congressional Recognition Award for her Excellence in International Community Service. She is former core faculty at Naropa University, and is also an Associate Professor at Holos University, as well as adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado Medical School, Global Health Department. Dr. Hibbard is an ordained Interfaith minister, obtaining a strong foundation in Spiritual Direction, graduating from One Spirit Seminary, and working with interfaith issues nationally and internationally. She is co-founder of the Uganda Malaria Health Care Project. In addition to being a noted lecturer at conferences and on teleseminars, Dr. Hibbard is published in professional journals and chapters in four books relating to Mind/Body/Spirit Medicine, and has a book of her own in progress.
Dr. Hibbard received a Master’s Degree in Science Education from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She is also a graduate of a post-doctoral program focusing on clinical training in contextual, therapy at the Family Institute of Berkeley. She is a Nationally Certified Biofeedback Therapist, an Advanced Certified Bereavement Counselor, a Master NLP practitioner, a Conflict Resolution Mediator, a practitioner of EMDR trauma work, Energy Psychology, and Mind/Body Medicine Trainings. She also is a member of Transformational Leaders Council.
Dr. Hibbard served as Co-President of the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine and she was President of the Colorado Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. A founding member of Ken Wilber’s Integral Institute, Dr. Hibbard is also a member of the Forge Guild of Spirituality and Social Change, and Spiritual Directors International. She is co-author of the Patient-Family-Physician Guide, which is a medical directive exploring a spiritual journey with family members through the dying process. She has served as a volunteer bereavement counselor and workshop leader for Boulder County Hospice, and is a volunteer chaplain at Boulder Community Hospital, and in addition, she has served on several non-profit boards, including the Board of Directors for Conflict Dispute Resolution, Access Counseling, and Holistic Medicine Foundations. She lives with her husband in Boulder, Colorado and has raised three children.
